Passport Requirements

Passport Requirements

Alert
All our cruises, no matter the itinerary (including UK only cruises) require Guests to have a valid Passport at check-in.

Passport validity – What you need to know before you cruise
  1. To help you prepare for your upcoming cruise, we’d like to remind you of some important passport requirements. With current delays at the UK Passport Office, we strongly recommend checking your passport as soon as possible to ensure it meets the entry rules for the countries you’ll be visiting.
General passport guidelines
  1. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the return date of your cruise.
Alert
This applies to all cruises, regardless of destination, and is supported by our passport & visa specialist, CIBT Visas.
Non-EU destinations
  1. Most non-EU countries require your passport to be valid for at least 6 months after your cruise ends
 EU Destinations (post-Brexit rules)
There are two key requirements for travel to EU countries:
  1. Your passport must be less than 10 years old on the date you enter the country.
  2. It must be valid for at least 3 months after the date you leave the country.
Alert
Important Tip: If you renewed your passport early, it may have extra months added to the expiry date. However, EU countries count 10 years from the issue date as the true expiry—not the printed expiry date.
Renewing your passport
  1. Due to current backlogs, please allow extra time for passport renewals. We recommend applying well in advance of your cruise.
Passport condition
Make sure your passport is:
  1. Undamaged as damaged passports may be rejected by immigration authorities
  2. Has no missing pages
Alert
If Your Passport Doesn’t Meet the Requirements you may need to:
Transfer your booking to a cruise where your passport is valid, or renew your passport in time for travel.
