L2628 - An update to your port visit times

Whilst your Hand-Crafted Highlights cruise may be a little way off, we wanted to get in touch to make you aware of changes we’ve made to our port call times in Ålesund and Olden.

What’s changing?
To help you make the most of the breathtaking Norwegian Fjords, we’ll be including additional scenic cruising, giving you more time to enjoy these hand‑picked highlights from the comfort of Balmoral.

On 30 August, following our visit to Ålesund, we’ll sail into the spectacular Hjørundfjord, often regarded as one of Norway’s most beautiful fjords. Framed by dramatic alpine peaks and dotted with small settlements along the shoreline, it’s an area rich in history and atmosphere, with strong links to Norway’s Viking past.

On 31 August, following our visit to Olden, we’ve brought forward the timing of our scenic cruising through the stunning Nordfjord. This change ensures you can fully enjoy the experience without it overlapping with evening mealtimes. Nordfjord is renowned for its dramatic and varied landscapes, including Europe’s highest sea cliff, and is rich in heritage, lying at the heart of Norway’s Viking history.

What times can we go ashore?

If you’ve arranged tours independently, please contact your provider to make them aware of the change.

We appreciate these changes may feel a little disappointing, however they’ve been made with great care and with your experience at their heart. By allowing more time in some of the most breathtaking parts of the Norwegian Fjords, you’ll be able to slow down and truly take in their extraordinary beauty.
