L2733 - Update to your Itinerary

We’re looking forward to welcoming you on board Balmoral for your Adriatic and Mediterranean cruise on 2 November 2027.

We’re letting you know about some updates to your itinerary and what this means for your cruise.

What's changing?
  • Our visit to Sarandë (Albania), will now take place on the 5th November (originally planned for the 6th).
  • The 6th November will now be a day at sea.
  • We'll now call at Koper (Slovenia), on the 7th November (this was planned for the 8th).
  • Sadly, we'll no longer be visiting Taranto (Italy), however, we'll now be calling at Ancona (Italy) on the 8th November.

The remainder of your itinerary, including your visits to Šibenik, Dubrovnik and Kotor remain unchanged.

Why have we made this change?
A few weeks ago, we were informed by the local Port Authority in Koper that our originally scheduled berth was no longer available.

Following this news, our Itinerary Planning team carefully reviewed this incredible cruise, working hard to protect our visit to Koper while maintaining visits to six countries. After exploring a number of options and working closely with our local agents, we had to make the decision to replace our call to Taranto with a visit to Ancona.

While we're sorry Taranto will no longer feature in this itinerary, we're pleased to continue offering an equally rewarding journey, including the opportunity to visit the beautiful Adriatic city of Ancona.

Why Ancona?
Overlooking a natural harbour on Italy’s Adriatic coast, Ancona offers a wonderful combination of history, culture and authentic Italian charm. Known for the hilltop Cathedral of San Ciriaco, as well as the beautiful Fontana del Calamo in the heart of the city, Ancona has been an important seafaring centre for more than two thousand years.

Today, the city offers an attractive mix of historic landmarks, lively piazzas and inviting waterfront views. Its compact centre is easily accessible from the port, making it ideal for guests who enjoy exploring independently.

Whether you choose to wander through the old town, relax in a local café or admire the city's historic architecture, Ancona offers a rewarding and distinctly Italian experience.

Scenic cruising highlight
As part of your visit to Šibenik, we'll still enjoy our scenic sail through the spectacular St. Anthony Channel, where you’ll be treated to views of rugged coastline, historic fortifications and Croatia's beautiful natural landscape.

Accessible only to smaller ships, this narrow waterway is one of the special privileges of exploring the Adriatic on board Balmoral. The passage offers a unique perspective of this stunning region and is an experience that larger vessels simply cannot provide.
